the Higher Institute of the History of Contemporary Tunisia (I.S.H.T.C)

The origins of the Institute date back to October 1979 with the creation of the National Research Program on the history of the national movement (PNR). Subsequently, the institute was transformed into the Higher Institute of the History of the National Movement (ISHMN), established by Law No. 89-89 of November 16, 1989, with its functions set by Decree No. 633 of April 16, 1990. It has been affiliated with the University of Manouba (UMA) since its establishment in 2000.In 2014, according to Decree 2014-1678 of May 8, the ISHMN became the Higher Institute of the History of Contemporary Tunisia (I.S.H.T.C). It is dedicated to promoting teaching and research in the field of contemporary history of Tunisia. The ISHTC is equipped with a collection of microfilmed archives, a set of testimonies, and more.
